About Persian Tabriz Rugs
Tabriz rugs originate from the historic city of Tabriz in northwestern Iran, a major center of Persian rug production for centuries. These rugs are known for their precision, high knot density, and classical designs, often incorporating floral medallions, hunting scenes, or intricate allover patterns. The Herati motif—featuring a central rosette flanked by stylized leaves—is one of the most common in Tabriz weaving, prized for its rhythmic elegance. Woven from high-quality wool, Tabriz rugs often serve as luxurious focal points in both traditional and modern interiors.
Unique Characteristics of This Tabriz Rug
This piece stands out for both its scale and visual structure. The generous size makes it ideal for anchoring a large room, with the navy field and flowing Herati motifs creating a sophisticated backdrop. The vivid red border adds richness, and the crisp contrast with the ivory corners ensures the composition feels both grounded and elevated. This rug isn’t just decorative— it offers a sense of refinement that enhances any interior it inhabits.
