Persian Village Rugs
Persian village rugs were woven at home in the villages of Iran, in regions such as Heriz, Hamadan, Bidjar, Sarouk and Mahal. Weavers often worked from memory, which gives these rugs bolder, more geometric designs, sturdy wool and a lively, individual character. See Persian Village Rugs in our Rug Encyclopedia.
