Persian Tribal Rugs
Persian tribal rugs were woven by Iran's nomadic and semi-nomadic peoples, such as the Qashqai, Bakhtiari, Afshar, Baluch, Kurds and Turkomans. Woven on small looms with wool from their own flocks, they have bold geometric designs, rich natural colors and a spontaneous, hand-drawn feel. See Persian Tribal Rugs in our Rug Encyclopedia.
