The English Manor collection takes its inspiration from the great country houses of England, where Oriental rugs have long shared rooms with mahogany furniture, chintz and panelled libraries. Its designs carry English place names, such as Kensington and Stratford, and they are colored and scaled to suit traditional English-style interiors.

Oriental rugs in the English country house
From the 17th century onward, English country houses gathered Oriental rugs from Turkey, Persia and India, and by the 19th century they were a standard part of a well-furnished English room. The English Manor collection draws on that look: rugs that sit comfortably with dark wood, deep colors and layered, traditional rooms.
Kensington
Kensington, named after the London district, is often seen in small accent sizes.
Stratford Mahogany
Stratford, named after Stratford-upon-Avon, comes in a mahogany colorway whose warm, deep tones match the dark wood furniture of a traditional room.
Finding English Manor rugs
English Manor rugs are less common than the classic 700 Series designs, and they are usually identified by their design names rather than by number. For other later Karastan lines, see Other Karastan Collections at a Glance.
