Tabriz, in northwest Iran, is one of the oldest and most important rug-weaving cities in the world, famous for fine workshop rugs in a great variety of designs. Karastan drew on Tabriz more than once: in the Original Collection with the #738 Tabriz and #747 Indigo Tabriz, in the Antique Legends collection with the Royal Tabriz, and in the Samovar Teawash collection with a Tabriz Medallion.

#738 Tabriz
The #738 is a floral Tabriz design, usually on an ivory ground, and is one of the most elegant of the 700 Series. It was made in sizes up to 10' x 14', and its light, refined look suits formal living and dining rooms.
#747 Indigo Tabriz
The #747 sets an allover floral design in deep indigo and ivory. It is a discontinued pattern and less often seen than the #738.
Royal Tabriz and the Samovar Tabriz Medallion
In later years Karastan returned to Tabriz. The Royal Tabriz of the Antique Legends collection is based on an antique Tabriz rug and woven in softened colors. The Persian Tabriz connection
